Quick Reference

What are Killzones?

ICT Killzones are specific time windows where institutional order flow is most active. These are high-probability windows where stops are hunted and explosive moves occur.

Why They Matter

  • Highest institutional participation
  • Most volatile moves within sessions
  • Clear market structure shifts
  • Optimal risk-to-reward setups

How to Use This Tool

ICT News Trading Guide
Pre-News Protocol (30 min before)
Close or tighten all positions. Mark the current price as a reference point. Identify liquidity pools above and below. Do NOT enter new positions during this window.
During News Release
Watch for the initial spike and stop hunt. Institutional players use news events to trigger retail stops and fill large orders. The first move is often a fake-out.
Post-News Entry (5-15 min after)
After the initial volatility settles, look for a BOS/CHoCH on M1-M5 confirming the real direction. Enter on the FVG retrace with a tight stop below the news candle wick.
ICT Optimal News Setup
The highest-probability news trade: Wait for the stop hunt (sweep of Asian session high/low), identify the market structure shift (BOS on M1), and enter on the FVG retrace with 2R+ target.
